DFW commuter fleet and stadium-area wear
Arlington's commute crosses I-30, I-20, and the SH-360 corridor daily. The DFW commute pattern — 30-50 mile round-trips — adds 15,000+ miles/year to typical Arlington cars. F-150s, Silverados, Camrys, and Sentras with 200k+ are common.
Cowboys (AT&T Stadium) and Rangers (Globe Life Field) traffic creates predictable event-density wear: heavy stop-and-go on game days, parking-lot abuse, and rideshare/Uber wear on the gameday-fleet cars.
Heat, no salt, and the TX inspection regime
DFW summers run 100°F+ from June through September. AC compressors fail at year 8-10; battery life is short; dashboards warp. The drivetrain side stays normal thanks to no-salt winters.
Texas removed annual safety inspection statewide (effective 2025) for non-emissions counties — but DFW counties (Tarrant, Dallas) still require emissions inspection. Failed-emissions cars often hit junk thresholds when the repair cost exceeds market value.
