How to Sign Your Title in Alaska

Wondering where to sign your Alaska title? Below is a quick guide to help you with the process.

Where To Sign

On the back of the title, find a field marked ‘seller’ where you can fill in your signature.

Important Tips About The Signature

  • Only one seller can sign, for titles that state owners name ‘OR’ other sellers name, printed on the front of the title.
  • For titles that include more than one owner name printed on the front of the title with ‘AND’ between the names, both owners must sign. Additionally, the same applies to titles that have nothing listed between the names.
  • If the title states a lien or bank name printed on the front, the lien or bank must sign. However, if they are not available or cannot sign, you will need a lien release letter from the lien holder.

What If You Don’t Have A Title

The Alaska DMV requires a title for you to sell your car. However, if you have misplaced or lost the title, you can always get duplicate title copies from the Alaska DMV
